If you ever want to ruin your chances of keeping your driver’s license, miss out on a job that requires a background check or lose the trust of your family, friends, and colleagues, then a DUI is for you! Read on to discover how you can achieve your worst nightmare.
Drive or operate any vehicle with a High Blood Alcohol Content
This may sound obvious but if you get pulled over, the police officer may give you a breathalyzer test. If your Blood Alcohol Level is above .08, then you’ve got yourself a DUI, my friend.
But how on earth are you supposed to know if your Blood Alcohol Level is too high?
You can buy a breathalyzer on our website through the link to check your Blood Alcohol Content (BAC). Avoid the risky guess work of assuming that you aren’t over the limit. You can easily determine whether the government considers your alcohol levels to be safe enough to operate a motor vehicle.
Guess what else can contribute to a DUI?
Operating any motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, including boats and lawnmowers, bicycles and even skateboards, can also get you a DUI. The police don’t discriminate against your mode of transportation. If you’re above the legal limit you can bet on getting slapped with an infamous DUI ticket.
Drive or operate a vehicle under the influence of ANY alcohol if you are under 21 years of age in the United States.
That’s right, college kids. Don’t think that because you only blew a .01 that you’re off the hook. It’s illegal to operate any vehicle, as well as consume alcoholic beverages, before the age of 21. There’s no way to play it safe. If you’ve been drinking at all and are caught by the police you’ll be receiving a ticket for driving under the influence.
Sit in the driver’s seat of your motor vehicle while intoxicated
There have been several cases where this has occurred. Even if you’re not actually driving, just simply being in a running vehicle while intoxicated can get you in a heap of trouble. People have been charged with DUI’s while sitting in the car listening to music and while sleeping. If you’re in the Driver’s seat and your car is running then you’re at risk.
Bottom Line: Drinking is fun and can be enjoyed in moderation, but it’s incredibly important that we have respect for the life and safety of ourselves and others. According to Cdc.gov, 28 people die every single day in crashes caused by drunk drivers. This is unacceptable. However, this can change if people moderate their drinking and choose to take either a taxi, public transportation or a designated driver to get them back home safely.
Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to a variety of problems in your life that range from ruining your relationships to being at risk for alcohol poisoning. Know your BAC and use a breathalyzer if you’ve been drinking so that you can protect yourself and others.
If you’re unsure at all about your ability to drive then please, just say NO to driving. The rest of the people on the road will thank you!
